I love Tamara de Lempicka. Her paintings and portraits are filled with vitality and sensuality. I love the way hard angles contrast with the soft, rounded shapes of arms, faces, hands, lips. Light flares out from darkness, as if the figures can't help but illuminate themselves. The colors are rich, unabashedly bold and vibrant. Her women are strong, confident, and alluring. Her men are debonair and magnetic. And yet some of her works are so starkly honest and compassionate. I could never get tired of looking at her paintings. Here are some of her work.
